As researchers, we’re trained to uncover hidden truths, challenge assumptions, and illuminate the details that often go unnoticed. But sometimes, the most meaningful connections happen when we pull back the curtain on ourselves. As your UX Research Leader, I believe transparency and authenticity are as important as skill and strategy. So today, I want to share a few things you might not know about me—beyond resumes, research decks, and team meetings.
1. I’m a Lifelong Learner
Curiosity is at the core of who I am. Whether it’s diving into new methodologies, exploring leadership frameworks, or even picking up something outside of work like a new sport or philosophy, I thrive on learning. This curiosity fuels my approach to UX research—always asking, “What else could we uncover? What perspectives haven’t we considered yet?”

2. Leadership Wasn’t My First Goal
Like many researchers, I began with a love for hands-on research: interviewing participants, running usability tests, and synthesizing insights. Leadership found me later, almost by surprise. What shifted for me was realizing that I could scale my impact—not just through my own work, but by empowering others to excel. Now, I see leadership as another kind of research: understanding people, motivations, and systems to help others succeed.
3. I Value Craftsmanship
Craftsmanship matters to me. A well-written research plan, a clearly visualized insight, or a thoughtfully structured recommendations deck is more than just deliverables—it’s a reflection of pride in our craft. I push for polish not because I want “perfect,” but because I believe that excellence earns trust with stakeholders and shows respect for the users we represent.
4. Outside of Work, I Find Balance in Yoga and meditation
I practice yoga daily, and try to meditate every morning. I’m a weekend hiker and avid road cyclist sometimes biking over 150 miles a week. These outlets ground me and give me perspective. They also remind me that creativity and resilience come from more than our professional identities—they come from living fully.
5. I Believe in People Over Process
I care deeply about building a supportive culture. Tools, templates, and frameworks are essential, but it’s people who drive impact. My priority has always been to listen to my team, advocate for them, and create an environment where everyone feels empowered to grow and contribute.
Why I’m Sharing This
Research is about human connection. By sharing more of myself, I hope to create space for openness within our team. The better we understand one another, the more effectively we can collaborate, innovate, and amplify the voice of our users.
So now, I’ll turn it over to you: what’s something most people don’t know about you?
